GM/President - Trevor Bickerstaff
Meet Trevor Bickerstaff, President and General Manager of Thunder HC. As the founder of the academy, he brings a clear strategic vision, strong leadership, and a commitment to long-term player development that continues to shape and elevate the entire organization.
Head Coach - Dean Segberg
Meet Dean Segberg, Head Coach of our U18 Thunder HC team. Dean brings extensive experience to the program, having previously coached with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL, as well as at the AAA and AA levels. His background also includes valuable service on the Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association (LMHA) board, where he contributed to local hockey development and organizational leadership. Dean’s knowledge, commitment, and coaching experience play a key role in guiding our athletes’ growth both on and off the ice.
Defensive Coach - Silas Reeds
Meet Silas Reeds, Defensive Coach of the U18 Thunder HC team. Silas brings strong competitive experience to his role, having played for the Dawson Creek Kodiaks from 2021 to 2023 before returning home to join the Lloydminster Bandits, where he served as Assistant Captain from 2023 to 2025. Now in his first year of coaching, Silas applies his leadership background and defensive expertise to help guide and develop our athletes on and off the ice.
Performance Trainer - Rene Weinkauf
Meet Rene Weinkauf, the Performance Trainer for Thunder HC. Rene elevates our program through his expertise in athlete conditioning and performance, while also bringing a valuable partnership with WCG Athletics. His commitment to structured training, strength development, and player wellness ensures our athletes are prepared to compete at the highest level.
